To meet the goals we have established in SmartUIB an operative with the following characteristics:

• Transversal
• Multidisciplinary
• Public-private partnership
• Student participation

In this way, working together, the result will be a strengthening of innovation in the university and, therefore, in the Balearic Islands; which will help to get a Balearic society increasingly prosperous. The process begins by identifying the needs or problems that exist and can work from the perspective of innovation. At this stage multiple routes and tools are available that facilitate this detection. Later, whenever the most appropriate for the case, a multidisciplinary team is created to conduct a detailed analysis and suggest one or more possible solutions. Then the necessary actions are carried out to execute them following the administrative procedures which the university is subject as public administration. Once the solution is implemented, an continuous evaluation will reveal its operation and detect if needed improvements.
